We are looking for a Service Manager our Service Department in Boechout, Teteringen and Jumet.

What we expect from you

Our department is responsible for bespoke personal protective equipment for the employees of our customers. They provide fittings for corrective safety goggles, bespoke earplugs and safety shoes. As Custom Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the organisation, management and attainment of this department’s goals. The team consists of 16 employees, spread across Belgium and the Netherlands. Together with a team of experts, you see to bespoke solutions as a professional service to our customers. You have the final responsibility for attaining the department’s objectives, which are a crucial part of the business results of Vandeputte Safety Experts. You make sure that the team operates smoothly and performs optimally. In addition, you work closely with the various Sales Managers as well as with Marketing Production, Supply, Finance and Logistics. Furthermore, you know how to turn the company’s strategic vision into concrete action plans and monitor interim results closely.

 

  • Business Plan
    You will translate the vision and strategy of Vandeputte Safety Experts into a concrete business plan for the Service Department, where the focus is on strong service for our customers and support from our sales organisation. You will follow up and adjust this plan throughout the year to the rhythm of changing market conditions. You will make sure that your team and other relevant departments are aware of the business plan and know how to create buy-in for the action plans.

  • Customer- and change-oriented
    You will set clear and ambitious objectives with your superior, analyse and assess performance and results, and take action as and where necessary. You will make sure that quality, customer satisfaction, growth, and profitability are achieved.

    You will promote cooperation and effective organisation within a 16-member team consisting of 7 field service employees, 7 customer service representatives, and 2 planners. You will ensure smooth communication and information flow in the team and inform employees about important decisions. You will also facilitate communication between the service team, other departments, and management. You will contribute to improving efficiency and automation in the organisation and see to it that knowledge and expertise are retained. You will support process automation to become a Digital Safety Leader.

  • Budget management
    You will have the final responsibility for the budget of your department. You will achieve these results by providing quality service to our customers and by supporting our sales organisation. You will spare no effort to meet or exceed the total sales targets of Vandeputte Safety Experts in terms of turnover, added value and margin. You will report to the ICT and Custom Safety Manager.

  • People Management
    You will guide and motivate your employees to achieve their individual and collective objectives. You will assess each team member’s performance by holding regular one-on-one meetings and biannual reviews. You will also be responsible for the development of your employees and the progress of competencies in the team. You will give autonomy to and show faith in employees according to their capabilities and motivation. You will make sure that the standards and values of Vandeputte Safety Experts are upheld.

What you bring

  • Master’s degree of equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in a service-oriented environment.

  • Experience managing a diverse and large team.

  • Knowledge of Dutch and French is required.

  • Goal-oriented and capable of getting the team to achieve these goals.

  • Effective leadership during changes to function efficiently and effectively.
