Vandeputte Safety Experts is looking for an Account Manager for Fire Brigade and Police, Flanders

What we expect from you

As an Account Manager for Government Customers, you will be geared primarily to ‘the people who protect other people,’ including the police, fire brigade, hospitals, and defence. You will focus on advising and selling safety solutions to government customers with existing or potential agreements. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing customers (70%) as well as prospecting for new customers (30%). Your customers are located in Flanders and the Dutch-speaking part of Brussels. With your strong customer and market orientation, you will succeed in achieving our ambitious growth objectives. You will work closely with colleagues from Sales, Marketing, Supply, and Logistics. You will report to the Sales Manager for Government.

You will approach your customers as a safety expert and engage in discussions on how to minimise existing safety risks. In your existing customer portfolio, you will seize opportunities for up- and cross-selling. It is important to understand clearly your customer's needs at all times and draw on your experience to come up with creative solutions. You will work closely with an experienced Customer Service colleague and, by extension, the commercial back-office team.

You have a strong growth mindset and succeed in achieving or exceeding the sales target. You will report regularly to the Sales Manager for Government. Your characteristic features include active participation in sales meetings, excellent relationships with your colleagues, and other people in the organisation.

What you bring

  • Ideally, you are centrally located in Flanders

  • You have at least 5 years of successful work experience and are familiar with government customers

  • With your commercial mindset, you analyse the customer's needs and get energy from devising solutions in the form of products and services that add value for the customer

  • Some knowledge of our extensive range of personal protective equipment (PPE) would be a plus
