German brand uvex were already leaders in the field of safety footwear when it comes to protection and comfort.

But now the shoe manufacturer has introduced 3 innovative technologies with the latest uvex 1 G2 series of safety footwear.

These technologies - i-PUREnrj, x-tended grip and x-dry knit - make the footwear even more comfortable to wear, while also reducing the risk of health complaints.

uvex i-PUREnrj

I-PUREnrj is a sole technology that provides additional shock absorption and stability. It also returns more landing energy to the wearer, making the shoes extremely comfortable when standing and during short walks. The anatomically shaped heels add stability to these cool safety shoes.

Why good occupational footwear is important

Standing for long periods of time and walking a lot can cause health problems. This can be seen, for example, in workers in the logistics or automotive sectors.

Research shows that one third of workers who stand or walk frequently have problems with posture or joints. They also often experience complaints such as ‘lower leg fatigue’.

These complaints can impact both their work and their personal lives. Sometimes to the extent of requiring medical treatment. Shoes that provide balance and support can prevent many of these complaints.

Why is uvex i-PUREnrj so innovative?

The i-PUREnrj technology allows 100% more energy absorption than the legislated EN 20345 standard.

Standard uvex PU soles have an energy return of 60% on the heel. Shoes with iPUREnrj technology return 66% landing energy to the wearer. This latest sole technology scores higher even at the forefoot: 59% versus 54%.

After 1000 km of walking, soles with uvex i-PUREnrj absorb shocks almost 30% better than standard PU soles, and outperform ETPU by 80%. Tests show that this reduces fatigue complaints by 21%.

The uvex i-PUREnrj technology is incorporated in every model in the G2 series.

uvex x-tended grip

Slipping and falling due to poor grip are the most common accidents on the shop floor. Slip-resistant shoes reduce the chances of this happening. That's why uvex developed the x-tended grip, based on the latest generation of TPU soles.

This innovative technology is used mainly in the heel and toes, the areas of a shoe that are most used when standing and walking.

X-tended grip makes safety footwear more stable and slip resistant on soft and wet surfaces.

They are also 66% more abrasion-resistant than required by EN ISO 20345. This reduces wear and extends their life.

X-tended grip is available in all uvex 1 G2 models.

uvex x-dry knit

Good occupational footwear must be able to breathe. X-dry knit technology means moisture from sweat doesn't remain inside the shoe, it wicks out from the shoe.

uvex x-dry knit not only looks cool, but performs extremely well. Breathability is up to 40 times higher than the minimum requirements in the EN 20345 standard, and 2.5 times higher than the standard uvex models.

x-dry knit also protects effectively against water and rain. Thanks to the special coating, the water penetration protection is 100% higher than the minimum requirements, and 10 times better than the minimum requirements for water absorption.

The x-dry knit is only available as an S1P model.
