Sustainability at Fristads

Fristads is committed to taking action against climate change and environmental pollution. Their target is to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030, in line with the UN target to limit global warming to 1.5°C. This includes:

  • Scope 1: Reduction in emissions from the combustion of fuels in facilities and vehicles.
  • Scope 2: Reduction in electricity consumption and district heating.
  • Scope 3: Reduction in emissions through the purchase of goods and services.

Fristads uses a life cycle assessment (LCA) for all their environmental initiatives. The Green Calculator helps customers calculate the environmental impact of their workwear. Fristads’ aim is to achieve the most sustainable policy possible, and this is also evident in their collections.

Fristads’ Green Collection

Fristads’ Green collection is the world's first clothing collection with an environmental product declaration (EPD). This means that the total environmental impact of the product has been documented and verified by third parties. All product names with a ‘G’ suffix stand for Green, which emphasises the product's sustainability.

React concept: Reduce and Reform

The React concept was created for products that are developed and manufactured in a more sustainable way. We offer this concept in two sub-categories:

  • Reduce: Green workwear with an EPD, which means the product is more sustainable and has less impact on the environment. Identifiable by the green leaf on the garments. All product names include the word GREEN.
  • Reform: Workwear made from more sustainable materials, without EPD. This means that the garments are made from at least 50% recycled material. Identifiable by the green square on the garments.
