The Speedglas G5 series welding helmet
- Variable colour technology: Fitted with Speedglas TrueView technology, and offering welders the added advantage of adjusting the colour tone of the dark state, allowing for a personalised experience. This feature enables you to determine the tones of the dark state yourself.
- Large viewing area and clear grinding visor: The G5 series offers a large field of view and grinding visor that gives welders an unrivalled overview of their work.
- Adjustable airflow: Do welders experience dry eyes, a dry mouth or a runny nose due to the constant flow of clean air provided by their active air helmet? With the G5 series, welders can now adjust the direction and volume of the airflow, which makes their work more comfortable without being affected by dry eyes or a dry mouth.
- Improved protection in a slimmer profile / Narrower design, offering more protection: The large coverage and protection with a slimmer profile is especially useful for welders working in confined spaces / carrying out their work in narrow spaces. The G5-03 offers over 11% more coverage than previous helmets in the same price range.
- Removable welding visor: The Speedglas G5-01 has a flip-up, auto-darkening section that can be removed quickly and easily. This allows welders to retain the clear visor for continuous respiratory protection. This feature enables welders who are not constantly welding, to reduce the weight of their helmets by more than 35% without compromising on protection. With the G5-03, you can switch the welding function on and off with the new Tap functionality.
- More stable fit (G5-01 only): The head harness of the G5-01 offers a more stable fit, and can be adjusted using nine different options for maximum comfort. The Speedglas G5-01 takes the head harness to a new level of comfort, making adjustments easy.
With both the G5-01 and G5-03, head and neck protection is fully adjustable with up to nine different options.
- A wider range of dark shades: Designed for heavy duty welders, the G5-01 offers a wider range of dark shades, including a new shade 14 for heavy duty applications at high amperages.
- Simplified face seal: Adjusting the face seal is easy thanks to the innovative attachment on the G5-01.
- Mobile connectivity: Welders can pair their helmet with their smartphone using the 3M™ Connected Equipment app to control all settings, including lens settings, and view usage statistics.

Task light: The optional task light can be mounted on the helmet, providing even light distribution and increased visibility in poorly lit areas. It gives a better view of the work area before and after welding, which can help reduce fatigue.
- Welding filter – 3M™ Speedglas™ Natural Colour Technology: This feature makes colours brighter and more realistic in both light and dark modes. It provides clear visibility before, during and after welding, improving weld productivity and quality. The G5-01 filters also fit the G5-03 helmet and vice versa.
