The 3M™ Jupiter motor-driven respiratory protection system will be phased out. This system no longer meets present-day requirements and is being replaced by the next generation 3M Versaflo.
Discover 3M™ Versaflo™
3M™ Versaflo™ is the latest line of powered respiratory systems from 3M. They incorporate the latest technology, and are designed to be versatile, reliable and durable.
As with any PPE, user comfort is an extremely important consideration. That is why a great deal of thought has gone into this design.
Continuous airflow
The motor unit automatically adjusts the airflow to compensate for filter saturation, so that a continuous flow of refreshing air is delivered during work.
As a wearer, you can adjust the airflow speed and delivery.
Ergonomic design
The lightweight, slim design allows your employees to work more comfortably in areas with limited space.
Suitable for all work activities
When your employees move from one work environment to another, they can expand the system they are accustomed to using accessories and the appropriate tools for the specific job.
User-friendly controls
Check the filter status, battery status and airflow setting at a glance.
Operation is intuitive thanks to coloured buttons.
How do I choose the right combination?
The 3M Versaflo powered respiratory systems consist of the following components:
- a motor-driven unit
- included battery and charger
- the appropriate filter (dust or gas filter)
- a hood
- a hose that connects the unit to the hood.
1. Choose your power unit
The choice of unit depends on the environment in which you will be working.
If it is an environment where you need to protect yourself from both solid and gaseous particles, you can choose the TR-600 or the TR-800 (ATEX) for potentially explosive conditions.
If you only need to protect yourself against dust and an ATEX model is not required, then the compact TR-300 offers sufficient protection.
- TR-300: Compact system for lighter applications. Only suitable for dust filters, with up to 12 hours of autonomous operation.
- TR-600: Higher-duty powered respirator, suitable for dust and gas filtration, and up to 19 hours’ autonomous operation (with heavy-duty battery). Now, with the TR-600, you no longer need to perform the calibration yourself.
- TR-800: ATEX version of the TR-600, which requires a dedicated ATEX battery.
2. Select the right battery
The autonomous operating time of your motor unit depends on which battery is selected.
- TR-300: The standard TR-300 battery delivers up to 6 hours, while the heavy-duty version delivers 12 hours.
- TR-600: Autonomous operation depends on user-specified air flow, and lasts approximately 4.5 to 12 hours with a standard battery. The heavy-duty version provides between 7 and 19 hours.
- TR-800: The TR-800 motor unit requires a special ATEX battery that can be used in potentially explosive conditions.
3. Choose the appropriate filter
For the compact TR-300, only dust filters can be used.
Filters and accessories for the TR-600 and TR-800 are a lot more extensive. There are different gas and dust filters (ABEK) available for these models.
If you want to make your own selection, consider a pre-filter, the appropriate lid and a spark arrester.
Use the product matrix to select the correct filter.

4. Select the hood or mask
All M-Series and S-Series hoods are compatible with the new systems.
The 3M Versaflo M Series hoods are most suitable for heavy industrial work. They meet the highest level of respiratory protection,
and can be used in combination with face shields, protective caps and hard hats.
The 3M Versaflo S Series are the most appropriate hoods for pharmaceutical and chemical work. They are designed for splash hazards and various contaminants.
If you prefer half and full-face masks, choose either the 7500 series half-face masks or 6000 series full-face masks.
5. Select your hose
The hose connects your powered respirator to your hood. Here you have 2 options:
- A robust, heavy-duty BT-40 neoprene hose
- A flexible BT-30 hose for lighter-duty work
Recently, 3M also introduced two new hoses (BT-60 series) to connect your half and full-face masks to the TR-600 and TR-800 systems.
